It'd also help if I had a five speed manuel, I think... Does anyone know if I can change my transmition? Manuels are more fun anyways.

STOP.

If you want a 5-speed, find a factory 5-speed.

Transmission swap would be mucho work and expense.
(Transaxle swap, clutch system, shifter and console replacement, some wiring changes, and of course computer changes so you dont get a constant stream of 'check engine' lights due to a missing juicebox.)

Trust me on this one. Not going to be worth it on a PT.

Sure a slushbox to 4-speed conversion works when you turn a slant-six-and-automatic Barracuda into a cloned Hemi-Cuda, but it aint gonna be worth it in a PT, Unless, of course, you are dropping in a Hemi.

well... there goes THAT plan, heh. Thanks for the advise.
I suppose if I'm going to upgrade my cruiser anymore I'm just going to wait and buy a base line GT with a manual already built in.

To me, that sounds like the best idea. IMHO!!

I looked at my 01 - only removable part in the airbox looked to be the White "Venturi" sort of looking plastic intake at the top...

I'm certainly no engineer, but are not veturis a kinda of good thing to have near intakes?????

Sorry to burst your bubble but neither an intake, exhaust or header is going to give you any more power you'll really feel. It'll make a nice sound, but that's about it. The PT non turbo is a great cruiser for driving around. Be happy you have some wheels to drive around in. Fast and Furious the non turbo isn't and never will be.
