Based on what has been posted (great posts from everyone) I would suggest manually putting an oil pressure gauge in where the oil pressure switch goes in. This will confirm what the oil pressure is at an idle. If I am reading the posts right now the only one checking the oil pressure was the mechanic. I would have someone else confirm what the oil pressure is at an idle.

I had a coworker offer to help me diagnose the issue this weekend. Before we started I went and purchased an Oil Pressure Test Kit from Harbor Freight and threw it on there.

On start up idle we had 70psi, revving to 3,000 RPM it went to 90psi. I talked to some turbo mopar buddies and they suggested letting it warm up and see if the pressure dropped. If the pressure dropped, the pressure release valve isn't stuck and the oil pump is fine.

That was after ten minutes. The oil pump is fine. I'm going to buy a Mopar brand sensor, install it myself, and drive down the road.

Thanks for your help, everyone!

Yeah, thanks for the follow up. The reminder about bringing it up to operating temperature was good.

So when the engine is cold, the oil is thicker and when the engine gets warmer the engine oil gets thinner. Are you using 5W grade engine oil?

How many posts to get here?

[rule of thumb]
idle pressure is low [single digits] and can cause oil lights to come on when hot.
Thicker oil was an old "used car" trick.

Thicker oil uses horsepower.
30-60 PSI is where most engines "used to run" [very old school here].

New England winters required thinner oil in winter [or the damn thing won'y turnover/start]
Quakerstate had a bad batch one winter and many engines were lost as 10/50 ended up 50
