Default Power Steering Leak. Replace All?

Hello All,

My 2004 Turbo with 115k is loosing power steering fluid to the point where it empties the resevoir in about 60 miles. I put it up on stands and wiped down everything underneath. I started & ran the engine for 30 minutes turning lock to lock and could not find a single drip underneath. Even so, with 115k and 14 years on it, I believe it is likely to be the lines.

I will do all of the work, and getting to lines will require disassembly of the front of the car. I'm big on one-and-done so I am reticent to just replace the lines. A rebuilt pump is $50 on Rock Auto. It seems prudent to replace the pump when doing the lines and be done with it for sure. The joker in the deck is the rack. Does anyone have experience with the seals in the rack? How likely/unlikely are bad rack seals the cause of this problem? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

From this end of the keyboard, with a leak like that, it probably is a hose. More than likely, the pressure hose. It's not a bad idea to replace the pump since you will be disconnecting the hose from it anyway. Be sure and pull the reservoir and flush it also. As far as the rack, IMO, if you don't have a problem with it at this time, leave it. Bigger money and bigger pain.

Pressure sensor is known to leak. One of the hoses is known to crack at the coupler near the rack. As I have read on here in the past.
