Default PT IS USING AT LEAST A QUART OF OIL A DAY & NOT LEAKING

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I have a 2005 Cruiser n I bought it a few months ago used. The owner did tell me it may need a new OIL SENDING UNIT..(sorry if I said it wrong) I tried looking online to purchase one but wasn't sure wat exactly it was called. It isn't leaking on the ground and I was hoping you guys could offer a few things I could check out.

How many miles are you driving a day to lose the quart?
Can you smell it burning?
Any smoke out the tailpipe or hood?

Also check the PCV Valve. Simple job, it's next to the ATF dipstick near the air box and battery (not the front, that's the oil dipstick).

Remove the hose, unscrew the PCV valve and shake it. It ought to rattle. If it doesn't, replace it or if you've never replaced it, replace it anyway. It's only $4.50 at an auto parts store.

Also check your air filter.
