Default Rattling Clanky Sound In Rear Of Car

I have a rattling clanky sound coming from the rear of my car. I installed a set of goldline lowering springs, and the dealer is telling me that they are rubbing or smacking together and making the sound. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

I had a rattling/clicking/clunking sound that was sometimes in front, sometimes on back. Had CV joints checked...no problem there. It wasn't clutch or transmission either. So they put the car on the lifts and found the problem quickly...where the cat meets the pipe under the car, an exhaust hanger was missing and allowing the exhaust to sway back and forth.

Hey thanks for welcoming me, I've been using ptcruiserlinks.com forever but never once noticed there was a discussion board till yesterday. lol. Anyways I don't really know if it's the hangers or not it sounds like it's coming from the rear right all the way back. It kinda sounds like when you leave your gas cap hanging out.

Nothing is more aggrivating than cruising down the road (trying to enjoy the drive) and you hear weird noises don't are NOT welcome. I have an annoying cling coming from the front, it doesn't do it all the time. But often enough to piss me off. I have done the process of elimination (taking out everyting from the car, checking my key ring, foot pedals) I know if I take it in the dealer won't hear it. I'm hoping it is the cold temps. turbo

I took mine to the dealer...told them I heard the sound before I lowered it, and by process of elimination they have come to the conclusion that it is indeed the springs making noise....I insist it's not, but they believe it is. I'm giving them the stock springs to prove it isn't...but if the sounds goes away (which we all know it will) I eat the difference in price.

When I changed my exhaust I took my spare tire out and drove the cat and had a BAD rattle in the rear, it was the deal that holds the spare tire strap, it goes down through the rear body panel and it just hangs there, I didn't think it was that way until I drove it and started looking for the noise, had to remove the scuff plate on the rear body to remove the bolt, all good after that, I can't see how the springs could (rattle), sqeak, maybe but no rattle...

be cool, James

The second trip to the dealer this is what they did.
1) removed everything on rear of the car including the bumper the spare tire etc etc, bare bone frame.
2) Drove the car, sound pertained.

I don't understand how it could be springs either, but they are going to check it out today, putting the stock spprings back on, and testing it.

Well they removed the springs and guess what? The sound went away :-( leaves me 128.40 short in the change pocket. And I now need to figure out why my springs were making noise. Who knows how much this is going to cost. Anybody got any suggestions or ideas?
