Default Your Oil Filter Reccomendations

Good Evening everyone!

I am curious as to what brand/type of oil filter you use for your engine. I have always used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil, especially with that awesome rebate from Pennzoil, makes it cheaper than the competition.

I've been using a Pennzoil Platinum HE oil filter, but I want to know what everyone else uses and why. I was looking at a Purolator Boss and it looked tempting for the price.

I typically keep my oil around for 4-5,000 miles and 8-10 months at most, so I need something with excellent filtering, a good anti drain valve and one that doesn't have a paper filter.

Thanks!

This subject has been brought up many times, usually resulting in a closed thread for one reason or another.

I use the MOPAR oil filter in my PT as I have been told by 2 Chrysler sources that they are made for MOPAR by WIX, which in itself is a very good brand. But regardless of who it's made by now, if it meets the MOPAR specs then it's ok for my PT.

Well lessee, for the past 50+ years of so, I've been using Frams.

Kinda liked when they went to the black grippable end.

AMSOIL Ea15K51 https://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulle...pdf?zo=1181889 . 15,000 recommended/warranted severe service miles/1 year whichever is first compared to the PT Cruiser's recommended 3,000 mile/3 month severe service interval. 1 oil filter as opposed to up to 5 competitor oil filters. Less natural resources and pollution to make, less landfill. Lowest cost per mile. Least amount of work. Saves time and money. Couple with AMSOIL's 15,000 severe service mile/1 year Signature Series full synthetic oil or their 12,000 severe service mile/1 year XL series full synthetic oil. Other brand oil and filters recommend changing at the 3,000 mile/3 month interval for severe service.

Best filtration at 98.7% efficiency at 20 microns. 4.6 times fewer particles passing through than the Chrysler filter.

FRAM/ALLIED/BENDIX/Autolite were some sponsors of my S/G Camaro and they paid very nicely (contingency $$$ ) as well thousands of dollars in parts for free.

I still use FRAM ol and air filters whenever needed.

I might also mention that FRAM made/makes/supplied oil filters for/to CHRYSLER and they had a Chrysler/MOPAR part number.

Valvoline 5W-20 and a Wix filter. I just changed both this morning. In my Forte.
