Ok so we replaced the alternator and battery, also put new post clamps on wires. went to start it up and its like the battery is not even on the car. no power anywhere. its a 2009 Pt Cruiser. we think or are hope that its something simple like a fusiable Link or a fuse some where. ideas and or how to's on replacing the fusiable Link would be great.

I need some history on this car. Why was the alternator and battery changed?

My daughter's PT Cruiser died on the highway. No power, not even to the OPD II port. Turned out to be a 10 amp fuse. Check all your fuses.

More details of your Pt Cruiser would help. Year? N/A or turbo? Stick or Automatic? As another member had posted was there a reason for replacing the alternator and battery?

2009 automatic, non turbo
we had a ruff patch of cold and took 2 days to get it started. once we did it was not charging battery right so like most cars in the past the go too is to change alternator. went ahead and put a new battery in it and change the post clamps to be safe. Now its not starting at all no dome lights no nothing its like the battery is not even there. we think its the fusiable link / or maybe a fuse but can not find a wireing guide anywhere for the car. while its not my first time doing these kind of repairs, it is my first time posting in one of these forms I was just listing the things we know are good in the electrical system. |
