Have you considered looking into a fuel pump listed for the 2003 Turbo PT?

Rock Auto has a listing with comparable part #s.

Here are those numbers for the Spectra pump for 2003:

Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): 5086650AA, 5086650AB, 5086650AC, RL086650AC,10147

For the 2004 year Rock offers the pump alone, but for 2003 the pump assembly is the only choice.
That suggests there is a difference between the build date you have and the later date.

Good luck.

As JDK52 mentioned, your early build date indicates at that time they still were using up the leftover 03 parts before switching to the new design. So if you bought the cheap 04 replacement pump with the included filter sock (strainer) from rockauto for about $28, you may have to modify your original 03 style housing to fit it. Even if you had the newer style pump already, there may be some work still required to install the replacement pump, as Chrysler had never intended it to be replaced.

I have seen threads here where people have taken apart the housing and replaced the stock pump with aftermarket pumps. It requires a little bit of modification, but its not too bad I think. I am not sure as I have never done it, so I defer to those who have and who may reply.

If you have little desire, or aptitude for modifying the original housing to accept the new pump, then your only option is to buy the entire housing. At that point, you could probably install the new design instead or continue with the older design. Unless you go for the super cheap new design for ~$81 at rock auto, the new and old designs are similarly priced at $108 at rock shipping of course.

If you were going to modify the housing at a later date to accept an aftermarket fuel pump to go racing or whatever, the 03 design looks like it will have a lot more space to fit it in.
