That's pretty much a last resort, when you need a car & don't want to put any money into it. BD leaves a chalky/gravel residue behind (cat litter).
AFAIK, you would have to pull the water pump, thermostat & flush the hell out of the engine.

Blue devil will clog all of the coolant ports. If you are still overheating, you have a bad head gasket. I just went through that with my PTGT. I was ignorant and put Blue Devil in my car... Made it worse. I had a shop do the head gasket and ended up having the head replaced and I had to use a wire brush to scrape out all of the crystallized Blue Devil from the cooling ports.

Yep.

If you are not sure of this, do a chemical test for combustion gas in the coolant. That will definitively confirm the blown head gasket.

Thank you all for your quick reply on the overheating of my PT Cruiser but I do want to mention that the head gasket was replaced a year ago in June at the time I put the blue devil in it... the cooling fans were checked out Friday and they were working properly mechanic told me I was good to go but by the time I hit 60 on the freeway the temperature started going up and within 10 minutes as I pulled into my driveway it was gurgling no leakage temperature gauge was up too high

the mechanic just checks to see it they work. if they blow backwards because you or someone else played with the wires, they make the car overheat while it is moving because it cancels out the incoming airflow at speed, but not when it idles. it's stupid, it's always overlooked, but it's been known to happen, and it's free to check

I gave away my 02 with very low miles after putting at least $1500 into it. That included rebuilding and pressure testing the cylinder head for $500 in itself. It had been overheated severely one time because the $60 radiator fan failed. We liked the car and followed up by doing every thing you have done. I am pretty sure the head was cracked and it didn't show up in the pressure test at a very reputable shop. The new owner got it for free with the understanding it would overheat if pressed or if the A/C was used on a hot day. You can run the heater full blast to control the overheating to an extent, which beats walking, but once overheated, I would replace the head with another which hopefully has never been overheated if you are determined to keep the car?

Pressure testing is a great diagnostic tool, but it's never going to catch all head gasket or cracked head leaks. But the chemical combustion gas test is pretty good at letting you know for sure.

Done Everything?
Check over flow tank for cracks
Check hose going to over flow tank
Check radiator coolant for proper level-- might be air pocket
Check hoses to make sure they don't collapse when hot

After 35-40 mph fan doesn't run for cooling but might for AC
