Default Clutch went out in less than two years...

My clutch has gone out for the second time in six years. The first clutch came with the car and I replaced it in Spring of 2017 after four years of use. I'm not... to my knowledge, a bad driver, although I learned stick on the first clutch and I am now reading that it's bad to keep the clutch in at stop lights. My two concerns are that, I was told several years ago, before the first repair, that something in the master/slave cylinders was leaking. Also, I read something in one of the other threads here about adjusting the clutch petal to make sure it was all the way in... and I replaced the little rod that holds the petal with an adjustable one several years ago and maybe I adjusted it wrong? Can anyone offer any advice?

On my cruiser the first replacement clutch didn't last a year, the second replacement clutch 10 and still good. Warranty covered the part, not the labor. Sometimes replacement parts are a crap shoot.

Good to know. I checked the parts and the mechanic said the cylinders were fine, so I went ahead and had them replace the clutch again because... well... I needed the car back to finish Christmas shopping. Hopefully this time will last longer!

My 2005 still has original clutch...113,000 miles on it (note: I bought her in 2011 at 56,000). So two different drivers and the clutch is still good.

I just keep the wife away from it...
