I got mine at KMart. It wasn't hard to find. Direct fit. I think they are group 26 550 CCA, same as my daughter's 200. Around $60. If Walmart wasn't further, it was less, maybe $54. Changed it in the parking lot. I don't trust auto zone to change anything. Last time somebody else touched my battery, they didn't tighten it down well and I had all kinds of problems before I realized what it was.

I've got an Interstate battery in my car and it works just fine. To replace the battery, I first disconnect the air intake temperature sensor, PCV hose, and then loosen the clamp on the throttle body. After that, you can pull the whole air filter housing out as one piece without even removing the air filter. I didn't know until recently that batteries with removable caps are supposed to be topped off periodically with distilled water. There's plenty of videos on YouTube about battery maintenance. I believe my battery is a MT-26R.

Just had mine replaced at Advance Auto Parts...there were about 5 other customers in there for batteries. The techs were talking to each other about my PT and another customer's Focus...the lady tech wanted to make sure the PT was easy (the other tech said "Yea, no problem...it's the Focus you don't want to do")

In the 200 it is in front of the LF wheel. You have to pull the splash shield and probably the wheel. Still better than the headlights, they tell you that you have to pull the bumper cover, but I have gotten at them through the wheelwell. Cut my arms up good squeezing in there though.

When I got my new battery at Sears I just paid the 10 bucks for them to do it. Easey peasey. Few minutes later I was on my way.

Interstate is a great battery.
One of the highest rated in the US.

I usually get 5-6 years out of my interstates.
Luckily, when I went to replace the one in my Panel project PT, my fav Chrysler dealer is using Interstate supplied batteries!
