You might also notice the wedge covers the IAC port entrance. I believe this is why the car pissed me off to the point I disconnected the IAC in summer with the air conditioning running. The idle was so much higher driving the car was annoying because I like to downshift and it wasn't slowing down. Not a ton higher, just enough to be annoying. I believe that the smaller opening and the plastic turd covers that hole to save Chrysler money on having to do the engine calibration twice. "Make this hole smaller, cover that hole up, good enough."

both have 52mm blades, however the original had a plastic wedge molded to it and was tapered down to a 48mm opening. the one on the left was $30 on ebay listed as from a "01-02 PT Cruiser 2.4L Auto" and the one on the right is the original off my 2001 5spd

Apparently I was a new owner at that time. I didn't even know what year my car was when I did that mod. Lol. I never had a 2001 it was always a 2002.

Looking at that picture, my 2003 GT 5 speed came with an automatic (larger, no plastic wedge) throttle body from the factory.

Nice! The two 5 speed pt's I have owned (one n/a and one turbo) both have had the tapered/smaller tb's, so I switched them out

ya but..... the CFM restriction is not the TB but the intake at a couple of area's.

On a related note, are there any performance throttle bodies for the GTs?

I have a little stumble off the line in my '05 w/ automatic that seems to be TB related and thought I might upgrade in the process.

Please advice.
