Default Where is the oli pressure sensor (2002)

My oil pressure light recently started coming on briefly. Checked the oil and it's fine. I figure the oil pump can't be going bad so the only thing left is the sensor which I guess I'll need to replace. Question is where is it? Thanks.

It located at the back of the engine towards the middle drivers side.
Either way from top or bottom, you can't see the whole thing...lol
I've replaced from both & found the top much easier...just remove air cleaner assembly & tube (unplugged MAF sensor).

Drain the oil 1st or your in for a messy job.

It's best accessed from beneath the car but you can get too it from the top. It may have a foil cloth cover over it. Here's mine before I changed it out. That aluminum piece you see on the left is the transmission. So it's almost at the left end of the block on the back side.

Here's some reading:

Spurious oil light... how hard is it to change the sensor??

HOW TO: oil pressure sensor replacement

what's inside that oil pressure switch?

Oil Pressure Sender/Sensor Info

As I remember, the connector can be a bugger to unlatch, especially if you can't see it (if it's turned away from you) and have to work by feel.

Thanks, guys! I'd probably still be looking for it.

It's good to be back on this forum.

Mine wasn't bad when I changed it, just leaking (And spraying onto the manifold). My tip: Spray it off with Brake Cleaner before you start for an easier time gripping it.
