Default 04 stumbles @ hard acceleration

I apologize for asking if redundant. Hoping to avoid throwing parts at it.

The car: 04 Cruiser, non-turbo, >200k miles, standard trany, newish plugs, injectors cleaned, shows catalyst code.

The symptoms: Runs great when cold but once warm it stumbles at full throttle. Accelerates fine at partial throttle. Really apparent if I use the resume button on the cruise control.

No change. If anything worse. Fine cold. Warm at full throttle it's stumbles using two cylinders instead of all four.

With a cold engine, take a heat-gun point it at the ignition coil until it's reasonably HOT.
Drive around and see if theres a difference.

Could be the issue.

Keep elimination of controls and sensors in mind so you can effectively troubleshoot intelligently.

O2 sensor
ignition coil
ignition wires
wiring to the ignition coil
throttle position sensor
MAP sensor
fuel pressure variations

etcetera

I'll evaluate the engine's condition considering the mileage and the fact that the prior owner (girl) probably ignored problems til it wouldn't move anymore.

need a real time scanner. could be either weak spark getting blown outby weak ignition or cylinder blowby.
or just a weak fuel pump, bad filter or regulator.

its one of the easiest things to diag. do a cyl leakdown test first, then diag the ignition and fuel. ignition is easiest as a coil, plugs and wires are less than $100.
_PTGT03 and circus like this.

to note. I would recommend to do a pull hit the stumble, pull over and shut it off then pull each plug and check them. But its kinda difficult with the intake manifold setup.
