Check the green wire.

Yes Wires are on correctly. Battery and alternator on the big post. The pull in wire is a push-on [ not a ring terminal ].

I would suggest pulling the starter relay and see if you have voltage coming from the ignition switch when you turn the key to start the Pt Cruiser.

I'm going to check some more today and I will check the start relay and adjust the shifter.

Well I haven't worked on the no start problem for a few days. Anyway today I pulled the start relay and jumped from the 12 volt in source of the relay coil over to the solenoid socket that goes to the starter and the engine cranked with the key in the run position. Still no start and no spark though. I checked the socket coming from the key switch in to the relay socket and only had 3 volts.
Something is blocking the power from the key switch [a bad or green connection] to the start relay. Just have to continue the search.
What does the shutdown relay do??
I thank everyone for the help so far and hoping everyone doesn't get this virus.

Automatic Shutdown Relay

The power supplied to the fuel pump, ignition coil, fuel injectors, and parts of the power module is controlled by the logic module through the Automatic Shutdown Relay (ASD); the idea is to shut off fuel pressure and the ignition systems when the key is turned off to prevent fires, dieseling, and other problems.

Thank you for that info.I can understand how that works but when the key is turned to the on position the fuel pump runs and sounds like it always has. Wouldn't that rule out the Automatic Shutdown Relay as a possible problem ??

Yep

Right next to that is the starter relay...you can switch that out with a fan relay to see if it's good.
