I was going to do that just to see if mileage would go up. Halfway through the first tank of gas it had to snow. Not much snow removal equiptment in Ok. Just filled up last night. Will give the traction control test another try.

I've got a PT turbo with auto and about 800 miles. On my last tank I got 20.8 miles per gallon in mixed driving. I am currently using Hess 93 octane. I will try other brands in the future to see if I find a difference in the mpg. My understanding is that octane relates to resistence to knocking only and does not provide an increase in horsepower unless your car is knocking. I would be using 91 octane if it was available in my area.

For anyone getting really bad mileage, I would suggest disconnecting your battery for a couple of minutes then reconnecting it. This will allow the computers to reset. If it doesn't help at least it didn't cost you anything but a few minutes of your time. I gained about 2 miles per gallon after resetting the computers that way.

I have a 2001 Limited with an auto trans. MPG about 19-20, almost all stop and go (in northern NJ, there's almost nothing else), but the car has less than 10K on it. Sometimes need to gun it just to get out onto a highway. What was said before about driving conditions ruling gas mileage is correct. Some additional comments. Try to keep your speed and the movements of your car as even as possible, which is why you get better gas mileage using cruise control than you do without it. Also, make the car as light as possible - fiberglass rather than steel hood, light-weight aluminum (not steel or chrome) wheels, narrow non-performance tires (wider tires create more grip by creating more friction with the road. If you're not using them, take the rear seats out. And keep the car clean and waxed. It's slipperier (is there such a word?) as it goes along, and every little bit helps. Not keen on increasing the tire pressure beyond the recommended maximums. Overinflated tires wear out faster and are much more likely to lose their grip and start skidding, especially in the wet. I've always used synthetic oil in the car along with the best filter I can get, not Mopar, and changed oil every three months or 3,000 miles. Air box, now header and cold spark plugs too (even though I was told that the cold spark plugs would worsen gas mileage). And better sway bars. Even lowering springs (I can't use these.). The less you have to correct the steering wheel to counter sway and the less your car leans into turns means your tires are squirming around that much less, gaining you gas mileage. My car now has much better pickup and torque all across the range as well as handling much better. The gas mileage hasn't changed much. I'm looking at exhaust next and a ram air hood, all for improved performance, not for gas mileage. Last, keep in mind how much all of these modifications cost if you are looking just for better gas mileage. Are they worth it?

With the computer systems in use now, warmer air will frequently get you a) better mileage and b) less performance.

After March 15 th. of each year the oil companies lower there RVP in gasoline. from 15 #s to around 7 #s .So we should be seeing an increase in our mileage until after oct 15 th. then it will start to drop again. Get some miles on your cruiser , get ride of those cheap Goodyear tires. get some sort of air filtering system that is not made by Chrysler ..After you do all this ,your mileage should jump up.

like cruiseing, meeting new people and sailing on the bay in my other cruiseer.

Getting 20mpg average in half city/half highway driving.

My Stealth is 19mpg city 21 highway with a V6 so it's almost the same.
