Just installed the Magnacore 8.5 wires and the double platinum Champion Plugs 7570s, and I must say that with 33,000 on my 03 N/A, it's running smoother. Especially noticable at idle, no jumping up and down between 800 & 1200 rpm. Good investment.
Graveone.

OK, can I ask if anyone can really tell or notice a difference by changing plug wires.? at some point don't we have to give the engineers credit for developing some of the parts already on the car? maybe I'm missing something. little help?

The stock wires are fine - when new. They are cheap, and go bad, giving you idle and running roughness. While the wires are good, you won't feel a difference by replacing. Once the wires start to go, replacing them WILL cause you to notice. Replacing with standard wires will cure the miss, too, but by going to better wires, the fix lasts longer. Resistance goes up with time in ignition wires. The stock ones start at a higher resistance than good aftermarket ones - when resistance gets high enough, poor/no spark.
MY OPINION based on my experience.

They have different resistance (Ohms/ft) I suspect. Also, fatter insulation usually lessens chances of spark arcing from wire to block - which I had happen with old stock wires on another car.... Car was running like a dog, I opened the hood one night with it running and saw the spark jumping.

To add to QSD's post, Magnecor offers different "price points" to the consumer. The 7mm is the direct replacement type wires. The 8mm has lower resistence, higher voltage capacity, and a better outer jacket material (500°F service temp) for the same size conductor wire. The 8.5mm (KV85) has even lower resistence, bigger wire conductor, thicker outer jacket for additional heat resistance (100°F more for a 600°F service temp), etc. etc. Can read this (posted a chart):
http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...k,plug,wir es

Just to note, the only difference between the "turbo" and N/A Magnecor wires is that in the turbo versions, all the wires have angled connectors to the coil (only 2 for the N/A set), but you can use either set without any problem. The angled coil connector for the longer wires helps you to route/keep the wires away from hot spots or contact. This information was confirmed by an e-mail sent by Magnecor Technical support. Some PT turbo owners have reported that the turbo wires are slightly longer, while others say the wire lengths are the same, and some opted to exchange/use the N/A spec wires. The R-100 10mm wires have the same internal construction as the KV85 and adds another 100°F (700°F service temp) and is considered overkill for street applications.

As a practical matter, I doubt if you can tell the difference or even measure it in performance terms between the 8.0 and 8.5 wires of any brand. Our runs are very short compared to a V8 engine so resistance is not that big a deal!
