the book says to change plugs at 30,000 miles, nothing about the wires though.

The '04 Owner's manual calls for replacing spark plugs at 30,000 miles, (schedule B), and replace spark plugs and wires at 60,000 miles.

I would change spark plug cables at 60,000 miles but check them at 30,000 for abnormal wear as they are subject to heat deteriation. I am going to use the MOPAR cables as they have really worked well for me in my Daughters Neon Sport for 60,000 miles and still look brand new! At 60,000 miles her car actually started to miss and refused to rev up. Dealer gave her a tune up and new cables and plugs for just $250.00!

If you're gonna do plugs, might as well do wires, too, since it's such a PITA to get to (unless you have a turbo). Get good wires and they'll last.

I agree with QSD, eventually you'll be doing the wires when it starts missing.
