That's just a breather for the valve cover. It is suppose to absorb oil that happens to blow out of the cover. Unfortunately, they didn't make them big enough or make the pcv's flow enough, so there is a little more oil out of the pt's. Turbo's or not. All of them I have worked on have a little bit of oil sitting in the bottom of the air box.

Is this the white circular piece on the top half of the intake cover?

You guys are saying it slides right out, but mine wouldn't move. Do I need to pull straight out or down?

With the silencer off, the car will be louder when??? on idle, cruising speeds, high speeds (if I hit the gas), etc.?

Sorry for the dumb questions. I'm not a gear head, so I want to make sure I'm removing the right part and for the right reason.

it just slides out. check to see where the guides are that keep it in place. You will hear it mostly on excelleration. I did mine and didn't think it made much of a difference . Just my opinion

OK. I removed a white circular piece, that connected together as 2 halves. There is still a white plastic piece on the upper half of the intake cover. I was trying to remove it, but doesn't seem to come lose, so I left it alone. I drove my '04 GT around and the only thing I seem to notice is that I can hear the pppphhhsssstttt sound, after letting off on the gas quickly. I can't remember ever hearing this before, but of course, this is the first time I drove around with the radio off trying to notice anything different.

Wow... you really arn't that good with cars huh?

The Silencer is in the intake box, up top. Took me 10secs how to remove it. It slides out, not straight out but try sliding it down.
