k&n filter

is there a specific k&n drop in filter for a 2004 pt cruiser or can i just use one for a 2003? i dont know how it works some one help please...

It's the same filter, part # 33-2153. Just use a screwdriver to loosen the hose clamp at the airbox and remove the hose. Undo the clips on the sides and lift the front of the top of the airbox and slide it back to clear the tabs and remove it. Then it's just a matter of removing the old filter and dropping in the new one. Reverse the above procedures and check carefully that the top airbox is seated correctly and clips are back on. Otherwise if it sticks up a bit, you may bend your hood when you close it.

Some people prefer other reusable air filters, like Airaid (5 layers), Green Filter (woven cotton fabric not cotton gauze), Amsoil or TrueFlow (foam filters), etc. etc.

Remove that white Tube looking thing at the top of your air-box while you're at it.
