Default Voiding Warranty

Will putting flowmasters or a K&N FIPK on the PT void out the warranty?

Mostly No. Under the law, only if the mod caused the problem can the manufacturer get off the hook for the warrantee.

And the manufacturer has to prove it, not just say it.

I asked my local dealership the exact same question. I installed a cold air intake and a Magnaflow exhaust. I was told that my warranty was not effected, but, the parts I installed were not covered. Everything else was.

Before CAI's and Exhausts would cause an uproar for most dealers, however, times has changed. Most dealers you find now won't void warranties for CAI's and Exhausts (at least to my experience), and generally don't make a big stink in voiding warranties since they have to prove it.

Of course, always ask your service department manager (owner is probably the best) on what mods is okay with them.

If the service department manager voids your warranty for CAI and Exhausts, its a very good indicator that you should find a new dealership to work with.

What you have understand is the dealer has NO SAY in something you change effecting the warranty. Unless they can prove what you did caused the problem they have no choice but to fix it. The warranty is between you and Chrysler. The dealer is an independent contractor who is paid to do repairs for Chrysler. Any dealer that does anything to make you think they have any control if something is fixed or not is a liar. You are protected by a law the name of I can't remember right now
