Default MAX wheel size

Hi everyone, I have a 2001 Black PT. I am getting ready to put new rims on my baby. i want to get 17" Enkei Valor rims, now i know the 17" size isnt a problem, my question is, what's the max wheel width you can put on a Cruiser before mods are needed. These wheels are 17X9! Will they fit? or is 8 the biggest i can go.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Paul

Here's some info from Shane of TireRack.com

-------------------
18" is the largest that we have tested to fit on the Cruiser.
Here is a breakdown of sizes:

18" staggered combo:
225/40-18 front, 245/(35or40)-18 on rear.
same size all the way around:
235/40-18 or 225/40-18

17" staggered combo:
225/45-17or205/50-17 FR., 245/(40or45)-17 RE.
Same size all the way around:
235/45-17 or 225/45-17

Let me know if you need any clarifications. On the rear sizes where I list two different profile possibilities, the first profile (lower profile) would be the same overall diameter as the front size. The second profile(higher profile) would be a little taller than the front size listed, giving you a wider and taller look on the rear. All of these sizes listed are acceptable even with ABS as it falls within the 3% differential needed so that ABS is still functional.
