I have an '04 GT, which is still about 2 months old (about 2700 miles). I am already looking to do S1, either BTG or Borla dual exhaust, & an Airade air intake system. Is it too soon to change my plugs & wires to performance ones?

You don't need to change it out that quick. Maybe you might want to inspect the gapping of the spark plugs at around 10k miles, I read posts from a few GT owners that the gap widens after 10k miles.
My GT hit 10k miles and still pulls the same as it did day 1. I'll find out out if my car still pulls the same 1/4 mile times this Saturday. |

Agree w/PTGT Boy. It can't hurt, but you won't notice a thing.

I'd hold off until after you've added Stage 1. I recently put a set of Magnecor wires on and regapped my plugs to .042 and love the setup. I only have about 6500 miles on my car since picking it up on 12/30/03.

I am at about 17,000 and I am going to change mine. I have had the PCM replaced and closed my plug gap and I still have a stumble in the higer RPM's under WOT. I gotta try something.

Could someone enlighten me as to the correct gap for the run of the mill PT Cruiser's spark plugs. I plan on changing out the wife's PT this weekend. Appreciate the help in advance!

I changed mine out when I started to get the high gear stumble. You probably will eventually. I'd just wait until then...

for regular pt it says the gap under the hood on the emissions sticker near the hood latch. It used to be .050" but has been switched to a slightly smaller gap.
the turbos are running an even smaller gap @ .042" it may seem like such a small amout but it can make all the difference. i still have .050 gap but am going to inspect and regap once i pass 1000 turboed miles
