I think there is something wrong with my existing pads or rotors. When im braking decently hard, it seems like the rotor is stronger on one section, and when it hits that section it brakes harder, and then softer and its pretty uncomfortable. I think ive made up my mind with the strut bar. Ill go with it. thanks guys
Is it like a pulsing in your foot when you brake hard? Sounds like your rotors could be warped...
Suggest you get the more expensive ones (they have "grades") from NAPA - better steel than stock. You could have teh discs turned, but they're thin to begin with and turning leaves even less metal..
You can replace the discs yourself.

its not really pulsing in my foot, but its like bouncing the car. I dont really know how to explain it

TaylorMade -

Your braking problem almost sounds like it could be a ABS problem, either that or the rotor(s) are warped like quicksilverdon said. I've felt both problems in different cars, and they are similar, but I think your problem is the rotors, becuase ABS normally has the peddle pulsing more if there is a problem, rather then the car bouncing.

Do PTs even have ABS? My car has an ABS light that comes on when I turn the car on, but the peddle doesnt say ABS on it, and as far as I know, all cars with ABS say it right on the brake peddle??

Matt

TaylorMade, I don't know if you got a good estimate on the cost of installing headers but I installed a JBA header and the cost of the header was $415 and my local hot rod shop charged me $300 for the install. So for $715 I got some increase in power in the upper RPM range but I would guess only about 15 to 20 HP. Off the line it's about the same as it was stock. For a little over $800, including instalation of the electrical portion, my ZEX NOS system added 75 HP. But I'm still happy with both installations and I'm glad I installed the header.

Have you actually dynoed your Header Jerry? I have seen some estimates and charts showing maybe 5 horsepower gains. How long have you had the header installed? The nitrous system sounds good, but I think you're overestimating the gains from your header.

No, I never did a dyno after the header install and I'm only guessing about the HP gain. You may be right about it being about 5 - 10 HP and that's mainly in the upper range. But the NOS is truly a 75HP gain since I have it jetted for 75 HP. And wow, does the NOS (when I use it) really make a tremendous difference.
