Crewzin is right, I just looked up the part number that I got from Lakeland Crysler Dodge, when I replaced mine 4/14/04.

It's listed as a stratus/neon, but the PT also uses the same 2.4L as the stratus and neon. However, the ignition wires are a bit shorter, and you kind have to adjust the wires for cylinders 2 & 3 to not touch the upper intake manifold (it doesn't require any cutting, just positioning).

This quote bothers me and frankly scares me a little. He says the Champions sit in more by 3/16" and that they were burnt meaning they could burn the top of the cylinders. That is a little confusing and yet distrubing. I put in Champion double plats when I did my wires and plugs at 20000. The ones I pulled out were champion craps, all burnt. The stock plugs were crap in my PT.

I would like to know, in plain english which one was better in the test. I heard the Denso's didn't fit right and one owner had one pop out of the screw threads.
You misunderstand - the Champions stick out less than 1/4" more into the combustion chamber than the Densos - ideally, I think you'd want the spark dead in the center of the combustion area. The fact the threads are burned is because they're exposed to the combustion. You're not in danger of burning the tops of the pistons. To me, the difference further proves the Densos aren't designed for the PT.

NGK came out with a copper plug that FITS the GT without any special tools or sockets. Look in the turbo forum or SRTForums for more info/
Good luck!

BTW, I gapped mine down to .045 from .050 and it ran like a 3 legged dog <~Crewzin So I gapped it back to .050. Your results may vary [8]

Coils should last a lifetime.
Sadly, they don't.
Heat and Vibration takes its toll.
Fritz...yea your right, BUT, lifetimes are different. I've got the stock coil on my Vette with 131,000 miles...runs like a scaled dog! [] That's more than a lifetime for most cars/owners.
Is it a 'classic' round AC/DELCO oil-bath coil?
Those are easily good for a significant fraction of a million miles.

These 'modern' air-cooled coils have a harder life.
My old Jeep gave me a -nasty, hard-to-diagnose problem- when the coil started to weaken...
When the engine was under a load... say 65mph, full load, uphill a single plug would foul...
Clean and reinstall... onward.
A different plug every time.
---
It took a serious engine shop to properly diagnose the cause was the coil, and problem only manifested after sustained high-speed running.

Replace the coil as per manufacturers schedule and you won't go too far wrong.
