$8,000 Exhaust system

I was detailing a car at my dealership the other day and I saw they were installing an aftermarket exhaust on a lamborghini. I asked the guy why? and how much? cost was $8,000. You would like at a price of $286,000 for the car, they would have a decent exhaust, don't you think? and I tought my BTG was expensive?????? [:I]Gary

What a deal??!! Only $8,000 for an exhaust system on a $286,000 car!!Let's see...how many kickin, custom, HEMI cruisers go into $294,000? Man, if only....

Hmmm, might not be such a bad deal, really. Figure that the $8000 is roughly 2.8% of the purchase price of the car. My car stickered right around $25,000, and 2.8% of that is $700. Guess what I paid for my BTG cat/back duals, including tax and installation - yep, right around $700.

So, relatively speaking, not so bad huh?[:I] What do you think insurance on that Lambo is???

Did you get an answer to WHY?
I suspect the price is high because it's essentially custom - I'm sure there isn't a catalog somewhere with a Lamborghini exhaust listed... they don't make that many of them.

Except that site doesn't list any exhaust systems for the newer Lambo models - Diablo (discontinued), Gallardo, or the Murcielago (which would most likely be the $286,000 vehicle Gary saw).
