I've been looking around for a Blowoff valve for my GT. i've talked to a few people and they've mentioned that I'm better off finding a blowoff valve kit for a PT GT as opposed to a more generic kit for the sake of installation ease and guaranteed compatibility.
Also, does anyone know if this would void the drivetrain warranty? '03 GT Deep Cranberry All stock (for now) |

Do I know "for sure"? no. But I would bet that is you fried a piston with that on it DC would try to void it and not pay. I would just bite the bullet and wait for the MOPAR upgrades. I know we all hate to wait but man if something goes wrong...

i wouldn't worry about putting on a generic BOV, as long as it is quality and not some piece of crap "Ractive" type thing. Greddy, HKS, Turbosmart are all reputable companies. As for warranty, in order for them NOT to honour your warranty they must form a case proving beyond a reasonable doubt that your non-OEM mod is the sole cause of failure or damage, if not it MUST be covered under warranty. I have lots of experience with warranty claims on a modded car with DC. And as far as BOV's go, i had a VW 1.8t for a long time too, and those are the best 3 from my experience...

That advice seems sound. Currently I'm only upgraded my intake and I want to get the Blowoff Valve put in and replace the headers. That's pretty much it for now, at least until I commit to major engine upgrades. I'm not like this putz in a WRX forum who blows up his engine by turning up his turbo to 18psi and not know what he's doing!
http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr... threadid=9739 Guys like that are sickening...really. Anyway, about the headers, CopTzer, I would think those are a little more fickle. Can headers bring about catastrophic engine failure...I honestly don't see how so techinically that should not be much of a problem as far as the warranty is concenrned. well just put on the blowoff valve and keep the stock downpipe.. just put it back to stock before you bring it in to the dealer.. I talked to the head mech at my dealer and he said that if I put it back to stock looking.. with no wires comming out of the ecu and most stock stuff was back on he would fix anything.. and if you do it right a blowoff valve can only help you.. I love the HKS SSBOV. I installed it on my supra and on my SRT-4

as far as headers go....they don't exist for our turbo's, infact they don't exist for any turbo. Turbo cars have a down pipe instead of headers that runs from the exhuast manifold. I believe there is one company that is already putting out performance parts for the SRT-4, including a downpipe. I would imagine that b/c we have the same engine it should fit our cars too, in theory. BUT i've never seen the engine layout on an SRT-4, so it may not be the same. Similar to the transverse or longitudinal 1.8T engines used in Audi/VW.
