Nudle is referring to the turbo PT engine only.
The non-turbo MUST have the intake lifted to access the inner plugs.

I know..... I wrote the guide on PTdiy all those years ago.

The rubber o-ring intake seals are re-useable. You do not need to get new intake gaskets.

OK, so I will be replacing the spark plugs, ignition coils, & wires.

What do I torque the spark plugs to?

What do I torque the intake manifold when bolting them back on?

Are there specifics in the torque for bolting the ignition coils back on?

Thanks for the help.

Eddie,

Unless you just want to replace the coils for some reason there really is no reason to do this. The factory coils these days are very high output. You really won't get more power or anything with a coil swap. The biggest bottleneck is at the wires. They have a very high resistance as they come from the factory. I would save the money you are spending on the coils for something more productive.

Eddie' Go to PTDoityourself.net and get the instrucctions for torquing the bolts. It cost $15.00 to join and is well worth the money.[^]

Not sure if the $15 is worth it for a site with instructions, but posts no photos. I found the info regarding the spark plug torque and someone kindly gave me the info also. The person belongs to PTDIY and told me there are no photos on there. I guess I'll still hold out on subscribing to PTDIY.

Eddie,

There are lots of photos of the spark plug change. Along with that is over 600 pages of PT info and mod guides.
It's a tremendous amount of bandwidth.

Eddie, it's an extraordinary amount of information and pictures for a measly $17.50 per year. That's less than a $1.50 per month for all the information, and help they have given me in the past year! It's WELL worth it. You spent plenty of time and money on your mods; don't be cheap about this.

But aren't forums such as PTCruiserlinks, which are free, for the purpose of helping those out who need it? Isn't that what the internet is for, to research information for free? If you keep telling people, go to PTDIY, then there wouldn't be alot of posts here. I'm surprised the admin doesn't delete posts containing PTDIY and other sights.

Sure, there maybe tons of information out there, but I only need one or two? Would you buy a 100 piece tool set, just becuase you need a philips and flat head screw driver?

Eddie,
Exactly how much do you think over 600 pages and a hundred thousand hits a month costs the site owner?
Do you really think the servers and bandwidth are free?

Forums are cheap, compared to extensive websites.

My website, domain name registration, free/unlimited email addresses costs me about $7 a month. I post some information for my friends to see, regarding PC/software stuff. Though it's only private, I never charge.

I'm sure you signed on PTCruiserlinks to give advice as well as get advice. I'm sure everyone else does. A few people told me that the forums of PTDIY suck, sorry to say. The forums here are much better. I've read several threads here, for people to go to PTDIY, which they do, but then come back here and ask similar or additional questions. Why go to 2 different resources?

If you don't to help me out, that's fine. But please don't interfere with other people who want to help other's out for free, without going to other resources.

Gary (Perfectautofinish) gives great FREE advice, becuase he's well knowledgeable in the area. Maybe one day, when I do, I'll open up my own website and give free knowledge as well. Until then, I'll be asking alot of questions.
