Just got my '02 Limited - how do you get to the battery? Or maybe you don't have to?

The battery is under the the two piece air filter. It's maintenance free and hopefully you don't have to "get to the battery" for many years. There are two access points for the negative and positive terminals if you need to jump start the PT. The negative point is a large screw up front by the hood latch (marked with a white sticker) and the positive can be seen on the right side of the air filter covered with a red plastic cap.

If you pull straight up and wiggle on the airbox it will pop out of the rubber grommets that hold in place. You have to loosen the clamp and pull the rubber hose that connects the air box to the throttle body. The whole airbox will come right off.. If you decide to take a look under it just make sure you loosen the hose on the airbox side because there is an air temperate sensor in the hose.
