Default Door locks

On my way home from work today, the power door locks got a mind of their own[:I] locking and unlocking every so often and other times they would do it steady for about 20 seconds or so[:I]. I know i have seen this topic before but didn't find it.
If I try to lock or unlock with the remote they just go crazy for a bit......any ideas

The door locks are controled by the computer that controls the windshield wipers, speedometer etc.(at least they are on the Dodge Intrepid, and I don't think they would different on the Cruisers, auto lock at 13mph). You will have to take it to someone (dealer?) that has the equipment to check it. The replacement on my Intrepid cost $400.

Umaxman, how old is your PT? It may be covered under warranty.

Previous posts for this concern have always been the RKEM Remote Keyless Entry Module. It's NOT part of the body control module.
This 'black box' is located under the center dash, above the radio.

Thanks for the replys...My PT is an 02/TE(auto) and is still under warranty, thanks to the extended warranty plan($0 deductable )
Have to take it in Monday and get it fixed...but have to drive it to work tonight[:I]Ok to do this or is there a fuse I can pull, don't want to cause more damage.
80,000 and still going good[?],well except for the locks[xx(]and the other minor problems.

Well I took it in Monday morning and had them look at it, It was kind of funny because when i went in to the service desk with the keys in my hand...the PT was setting in the parking lot and the doors were locking and unlocking[:I].
They finally gave me a van and told me they would call when it was fixed, so I went to get some stuff out of the PT and wow was I shocked, they had it all tore apart no dash or door panels the complete interior was gone.[:0]
They called today and said it was fixed...it was a solenoid gone in the rear door[:I]the only problem I noticed now is the doors don't lock when you start to drive away like they use to?

Read your manual. Think I remember that you can turn that feature on or off.

The automatic door locks can be enabled or disabled by preforming the following procedure.
Note steps 2&3 must be preformed within 10 seconds.
1 Cloce all doors and place key in the ignition switch
2 Cycle the ignition switch ON/OFF foru times ending in the off position.
3 Press the interior door lock switch to the lock position.
4 A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.
You can turn the feature back on by repeating the above mentioned procedure.

I turned mine off as well as that damn horn that beaps
when you lock the doors with the remote.
