Thanks for the concern everyone,
My Pt turned out better then I thought it would.
I took it back in the next day to find out that the fluid they found, didn't show up the next day, after the dye was in the tranny, and the hose wasn't as bad as they thought. The tec repaired the hose and moved it out of the way.

By repair Im not sure what they mean but at least it runs better. I used to have a small whine, that could be heard only at night when it is more quiet outside. I can't hear it anymore.

The leak in the tranny did not show up again, but that does worry me, typically your tranmission will leak a little and cause the fluid to gunk around fits and such but usually doesn't drop on the ground. It may have been caused by my accident but shouldn't have I wouldn't think consirdering my accident was above the bumper, but who knows. I continue to watch it day to day.

I look down into the engine area, the only think I can see they may be different is the power steering cable has the metal houseing around it, not sure if it was there before. Heck given what I looked at I could have done it myself.

You have internet access so try this. Hopefully it will work for exports Cruisers also.

help for all owners that need the paperwork to get this fix. go to chrylser.com, click the 'for owners' link, then the 'recall notices' link. enter in your vin and they will give you the notice, which you can print and take to the dealer. this worked for me. as others have said and at least one person on this forum experienced (sorry to hear about your cruiser SuGamer!), this can be serious and should be fixed asap! i'd imagine you could even ask the dealer to use their computers to look up the recall! can't believe a dealer would ask a customer to wait for paperwork on a recall that can cause a fire!?!? i'd find another dealer if they said that to me.

Yes please do ASAP! Fire is nothing to play with, and seeing your beloved PT go up in flames is not fun at all. Posted 2 more pics on my website of the aftermath of the fire. These were taken by my cousin, and I just uploaded them from his PC today. Excuse me if the new pics are large, didn't have time to resize them yet. Anyway, please print out the recall and get it done. If your dealer gives you excuses, throw your hands up, yell and scream, and threaten to call DC on them. I'd rather scare them than show them a burnt PT!

Sorry to hear all the anxiety regarding the power steering recall. Mine came from DC 3 months ago; I checked it(looked fine) and dealer checked it ( in 10 minutes). It was fine, no rubs, no leaks. '01 TE, G28, born March 2000, 28000 miles. My issue is ridiculous--still getting notices after having checked over a month ago. Watched dealer enter data in computer. Apparently, DC needs lot's of time to enter data. Good luck to all still needing check to be done. Seems (here) more not requiring service than do.
