Hey Cal! I think the sale is over. It was a November sale, but the good news is Race & Street's regular price is $49. Definately worth the price. Mike, I understand how you got to the gap. I regapped this morning to .40. OH MY GOD! Who awoke the demon under my hood?! The block I stated I usually hit 60, I just hit 70! And I could probably hit 75 - 80, but I had to slam on the brakes because there is a dip in the intersection. If I don't slow down, I know I'll bottom out.

I agree with you Don, but ... My GT has less than 6,000 miles. I haven't had my second oil change yet! When I regapped the plugs to .45, the car felt alittle more powerful than when I first broke it in. With the Crane wires, the car felt alot stronger. With the wires and a new gap of .40, it feels like the dragons are trying to fly! I'm sure you enjoy your wires as much as I do! [^]

In my opinion, a good set of wires like the Crane Firewires or the Magnecors along with a tighter gap are a cheap mod that gives you a good kick in the pants![?][8)]

At the very least it's like chicken soup - it'd can't hurt.

I'd be interested to hear how the hyperground would feel after the plug wire and gaping change. With all the electronics on these things its sounding like changes in this area may add to the performance if not the actual HP. Does MeanGreen perform better after the changes Mike?

Anyone want to hazzard a guess at what I'll be doing this weekend?

I noticed that all replies are from GT owners. Would regapping on a base model enhance performance? I have already installed 8.5 Crane wires. Thanks

The smaller gap on a blown engine is more effective because the turbulence from the turbo has a tendency to "blow out" the spark at higher RPMs. This realy isn't an issue on an NA engine. A wider gap may even be marginally beneficial to an NA engine since it will result in a larger spark.

Turbulence? Are you sure it isn't pressure?

Hey Mike, did you regap? Just curious if you got a performance boost also. I did the mistake of taking off the traction control saturday when I pulled out of my parking lot. I got HEAVY wheelspin with the stock goodyears, and smoked up the street. Burning rubber stink all over the place! I won't do that again!
