Ok so it seems .040-.042 for stage1 right?!!! what plugs are you using also?

Skip the Nology wires & go with the Cranes or Maggies right? I've been away for awhile & am trying to get a feel for what is working best.

I like the idea of 25 ohms/ft. How's the ignition noise them?
I regapped the stock plugs to .040 (only have alittle over 6k miles on them right now) and the Crane Firewires. I got NO ignition noise what so ever. In fact the car idles and sounds smoother than before. I will be trying out the NGK's when I upgrade to Stage 1, or hopefully Stage 2.

OK, this is definitely related but a little off:

From the Miata forums I determined the "hot" combination of spark plugs and wires for my Miata. NGK plugs with a slightly different temp rating (one cooler I believe it was) from factory, and Magnecor wires. My little drop top was exhibiting a fairly common cold idle stumble, so I made the switch without hesitation, especially since I'm loving the Magnecors on my PT. Well, that cold idle stumble is completely gone, and wouldn't you know....the Miata now shows the same sort of performance improvement at the top end that the PT did with these wires. She pulls wonderfully smoothly right up to the 7000rpm redline in every gear.

Seems the Magnecor wires are a pretty terrific upgrade whether you're boosted or not.

[?] [:X] Like to hear that! By the way, have you regapped your PT's plugs yet? Just curious if you get the same "boost" I did.

If this question is directed at me then keep in mind I put the NGK plugs in my Miata, NOT the PT. If this question is not directed at me........nevermind.

Nope, not yet. Still running my "altered" .042 and I've either been travelling for work (just got back from Dallas and Atlanta) or it's been raining here (the PT doesn't go out in the rain), or Christmas was coming, or I was working too darn much, or playing with the Miata, blah blah blah. I'll get around to it one of these days, I promise! Certainly before the January 22nd track night.

LOL! OK, you're a busy man, and that's understandable. Sorry to get off topic, but how is the weather in your part. I heard Cali has been hit by a good amount of rain lately, and I even heard something about snow! [:0] What's up with that? Is the world coming to an end?? I thought the song said, "It never rains in Southern California"? [:I]

That song lies!! I missed most of the really nasty rains as I was in Dallas and Atlanta earlier in the week, but I guess it really came down here (several inches of rain in fact) and it's raining again right now. The snow is all in the local mountains - keep in mind you can drive about 90 minutes from the beach and be at about 8000' of elevation! Of course with all this rain I won't be driving the "fun" cars this weekend so I just might have a chance to regap those plugs, but I won't have a chance to test it out!

NGK LZTR4A-11, most car parts places would carry them. I got mine from an AC Delco supplier. [8)]

I got the Magnecore wires and Champion DBLE Plat plugs and I am very happy. How often should I change the plugs? How about the wires? Is the Screamoin Demon worth it? Is it hard to do? I found the plugs fairly easy. Thanks for any help harrisonmml
