On my 03 PT Turbo, the sparkplug boots are very wide and bulky, do you need a special tool to remove them or can you do it by hand?????

No special tool. They are just a little hard to get off the first time. Dielectric grease works well to get them off next time.

Agree with Mean Green. Silicone spray also works. I also put dielectric grease on the ceramic of the plug so it doesn't bond to the boot, and anti-seize on the plug threads.
