I am thinking about installing the JBA cat4ward 4-1 header when (or shortly after) I do the exhaust. I will be doing MX-5's second procedure on PTDIY.net. Anyway, question is, will adding a header change the tone of the exhaust? Any louder, any quieter? Im pretty sure that I will be doing the flowmaster force II #17326 single exit exhaust. I just hope that the included resonator will do an an adequate job of cutting the drone on my 5 speed.

I found a slight increase in sound level when i put in a header. And a nice increase in power.
The best cure I have found for the dreaded drone is to stay above 4000 rpm. [8)]

I've got the Flowmaster on my five-speed. I like it, no 'drone'.
