Can't(VERY HARD) get into gear !!! HELP!!!

Had a nice Valintines Day but this morning the PTs acting up on me. While I was driving the clutch pedal suddenly feels hard and have very little travel or engagement. Also shifting into gear especially 1st got from notchy to impossible. I need both hand to force it in to 2nds gear and I'm not weak either. I'm lucky i got the car home.

Could it be the:

1)Low Tranny old?........not likely
2)Tranny problem?........hope not
3)the clutch disk need replacement?.........very lilely but still expensive to change

I have 67K on it and I use it to learn manual so the clutch going out is likely but hope it wouldn't lead to more problems. ......suggestions?

BTW how much would it cost to change a clutch? $500?

it is a 2001 LE with 66+K miles

OK I went to the shop to look for problems and they mech guy say that it might be my clutch master cylinder and may not be the clutch which is $150+labor> and my car need to stay in shop of a while maybe until early friday>

here an up date 5 days and my car is still in the shop cause of the back order part......Even Benz don't take this long....the piss smelly subway is starting to get to me and my passions running short if I don't get my car back tomorrow I'll be change mechanic again [8]

OK it was the clutch that need replacement and the mech guy mistakenly change my clutch cylinder too and cost me $150+clutch $350 + 150 labor =$650 This is just ridiculous
