Well, if you get stainless, longevity, altho the aluminized front part seems to be holding up fine. Other than that, no advantage, since pipe's the same.

Is the factory pipe mandrel bent too?? Or is it a straight run??

I doubt that the factory pipes are mandrel bent. The PT exhaust has three 90 degree bends between the catalytic converter and the clamp that separates the axle back section to the main pipe. The axle back section has an additional 180 degree bend and a 90 degree bend in it.

I thought I read somewhere the the stock pipes were
mandrel bent.Can't find it now,but I read it after I bought my catback exhaust.

My thoughts exactly: If you are not going or dont have to go to 2.5" then a catback don't seem to make much sense from a performance stand point. From a noise and esthetic standpoint that is a different story! I am just not sure from the stories of others that catback systems really make much power just a better noise factor and the duals do look nifty to some!
Since DC put on the Borla 2.5" duals on their stage 1 cars for the block party in Pamona two summers ago I would say they thought stage 1 needed it for the turbos anyways. ![]() Quote:
