ATF+5 is a fully synthetic version of ATF+4.

The upgrade would be the same as a personal choice to use synthetic oil over conventional.
So would it run a little cooler and not break down as fast??

It's you choice.
Remember, a tranny flush will take about 12 quarts of ATF+5 at about $8/qt. Add the labor for the flush machine, and you could buy a salvage tranny for the total cost.

Maybe so, but to have a slavaged tranny installed is a lot more, and with a salvalged tranny you might not be much better off than what you had.[:I]
I believe I paid close to $200 to have my trans flushed w/ATF +5.

One more question - is ATF+5 compatible w/ATF+4 ? In other words, could you top off with one or the other?[:I]

You can always upgrade fluids. Just don't downgrade from ATF+4 to generic Dexron II ATF.

Thanks.
My trans is fine, I was going to add ATF +5 to power steering, which is at add line.

I was always told that you shouldn't have to add power
stering fluid unless you have a leak somewhere.True or not??

Or if you didn't tighten up the cap and some spilled out. []
