Default Help Needed Guys

Right then. Here we go. 2.2CRD 52reg 24000mls on clock. NEEDS MORE OOOMPH. its okay when it gets going but does anyone know how i can get more power out of the engine. I do belive it is roughly the same engine as the merc C220 tdiesel, but that is 35 BHP more. would be nice to have that bit extra for overtaking on the mways as i do alotof miles now. Also. Anyone know where i can get a strut brace. can't find one over here. Cheers

You know, I hope, that they don't sell the diesel in the states, but the principle should be the same. Make sure your plugs and wires are up to par. Chrysler puts crap into the OEM engine and your about at the point where plugs could be due for an upgrade. The other two things to look into are exhaust and intake. Neither will give you a kick in the pants kinds of extra HP your looking for but might be enough to help. Look for a less restrictive muffler and an intake system that will draw more air into the throttle body.

Since your in the UK, have you tried this site for cruiser parts?

...and, do you know about the UK Cruiser forums?

no plugs and wires for a diesel(aside from the glow plugs). Like Crewzin said, we Yanks don't have diesels, so none of us have hop-up expertise on that engine. Check with others on your side of the pond for help with the power. And Welcome to the forum! The 52 registration is not something I'm familar with. What is it and what does it have to do with technical issues?

Aside from the plugs and wires advice, Crewzin gave you two good links to pursue. I understand there are engine computer chips that can boost performance, but we dont' get that engine here, so I don't have any info. [:I]

I'm no diesel expert either but I know "chips" to increase turbo boost and propane injection are major ingrediants to increase HP over here. I'm assuming the PT diesel has no turbo however so you are probably only left with exhaust upgrades and the propane injection.

I would contact Maggie at www.raceandstreet.com for a Freedom Design strut tower brace. However, I am not sure if there is any obstruction in the turbo engine bay that would get in the way. The Freedom Design are the best bang for the buck (or euro)IMHO.

Cheers peeps, to try to answer all the Q's Purple04 52 is the reg plate on the car 52 = late 02 - daft but thats the way the government went when they ran out of letters to preceed numbers. Hyracer - yep it does have a turbo. next from what I understand of all diesels - adding an iduction kit/freeflow filter will actually reduce the BHP of the engine (and considering it's only got 119 i can't do it captain I dont have the power). An exhaut is good but once again parts ain't cheap over here (and imposible to find unless specially made for the PT/imported(and you guys don't have diesels) and a superchip would cost round about £600 for the PT. Whats the 2.4 petrol like they have just released it over here! I might just change.[?]

The base 2.4 here makes 150 HP, responds very well to intake and exhaust mods, of which there are many to choose from.
We also get 2 turbos - a 180HP turbo, runs on regular, and a 215HP turbo that requires premium fuel - all 2.4L.
