You might want to take a look here.
http://motors.search.ebay.com/PT-Cru...spiZ2QQstypeZ1 It looks like they are about $20.00 and shipping... Is this more reasonable??

Thanks for the info. I too saw that on Ebay.
I just can't believe the 'big' filter guys don't make this. I guess all costs money. |

Might as well replace the whole thing for that price.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see that it cost DOUBLE the price (at least) of a normal air filter thats HALF the size, and then they call it a "Filter System"!!!

SRG,
I don't understand your comment. The engine air filter for the 2.4L PT is $13.44. The cabin air filter is between $12.50 and $16 depending on the vendor. The Mopar cabin air filter can be purchased at any Chrysler dealership in the country. There's no need for internet orders. Most dealerships sell it for $15, and give a 10% discount for PT club members. |

I've seen regular engine air filters for $6 to $8 dollars in places like Auto Zone, Pep boys, etc
Prices on the cabin air filter are from $16 to $19. I don't where you find Chrysler dealers who sell below $16 that's been their standard price as long as I've been buying them, unless you mean after the club discount. The point is, for the small size of the filter element, it's a rip-off. I buy 12 in. X 24in home AC filters, which filter out pollen and mold and they cost $4. |

I buy them all day for $12.50 at wholesale.
They are $15 in the Mopar accessories catalog. Remember, Wendy & I are the 2 who brought the Mopar cabin air filter to the USA, back in 2001. They are standard in the export PTs. I'm not trying to argue, only inform you about the history of the cabin air filter. I wrote the original installation guide for Chrysler and PTdiy.net The double platinum plugs and passenger seat armrest are also my inventions. |

Not trying to argue either, I know you're right about not needing internet sales, especially ebay sales "auctions" where the cabin air filter is selling for $19.99.
From the Wyckoff website: 82206886 Regular price: $16.00 Sale price:$15.20 The Chrysler dealers I use around here, Tampa Fl, charge $16. If you order it from anywhere, like wyckoff, you got to pay for shipping too. As always the places I use refuse to stock them, and they have to be ordered. You have any idea how to get replacement plastic screws and fasteners that hold the cowling on above the cabin air filter? After taking them out twice, there's not much left of them. SRG |
