Default How do you get the cover off to change headlight.

Good morning.

I have a 2002 cruiser. I want to change my headlight bulbs.

I notice that there is some type of cover in the wheel well that can be removed to get to the bulbs.

How does this come off? Tried to do it yesterday without a lot of light and stopped before I messed something up.

Thanks.

It's a PITA. Look carefully at it & you'll see 2 sides have "fingers" that stick out. You want to push towards them from other sides while pulling down. I found one side was easy, other side I was afraid I'd break something. A large, flat screwdriver in the side away from the "fingers" is what I used, but I'd be glad to learn a trick for how to do it easier.

Yep, just like the good man said, it takes more force than you'd think reasonable. At least they pop back in easy when you're done.

Thanks for the help guys... replaced the low beams with silver stars this morning.

I must say, the covers go back on easier than they come off... :-)
