I was ordering touch up paint from Wyckoff Chrysler, and I saw a close out deal on the B&M short throw shifters. I made an impulse buy, it was on sale for $49.95 so I bought it without thinking. Anyway, does anyone out there have the B&M shifter and are you happy with it? I always was more interested in the Hurst, but I couldn't pass up the price. How hard is the install? I quickly browsed through PT DIY and didn't find anything on it, but I thought I spotted an install guide a little while back.
Thanks |

The installation is basically the same as the Hurst shifter, minus the shifter collar stop.
http://ptcruiserworld.tenmagazines.c...p?aid=70&sid=8 You don't have to remove the cables from the shifter bracket. Just from the shifter itself. Also buy some good grease to liberally lube up everything. Would suggest buying booger bushings, http://www.boogerracing.com/ , and replace the OEM bushings while you have everything apart. Booger Bushings will take out all the mushy shifting feel or flex and last a lot longer too. [8)]

I bought a non adjustable Hurst shifter from Saleen years ago on an implulse and parking lot sale for $19. Have had it for over 10 years and love it so some impulse buying is OK. B&M have a great reputation for shifters so I think you will be real happy. Yes do change the bushings and you will have years of fun shifting. In my Mustang the shifter and clutch pedal mods I made really made driving more fun!
