tranny concern
I Have a 2003 Pt Crusier with about 39000 miles on it.
In the past 3 days the 5 spd manual tranny has started to give me problems. What is occuring is the petal is very soft. almost no resistance at all. and trying to get it into gear to start with is very hard. I have to attempt several times to get it to go into gear. My concern is that the clutch is slipping, but I think it would be unusal at only 39000. Anyone have any suggestions. It is at the point right now that I am corcern to even drive it. Any suggestions would be appricated.

I've seen clutches go at 40k before, and it sounds like clutch.

What about the clutch fluid reservoir? Maybe you have a leak, that would account for no resistance and grinding gears.
