Probably the best value for the money being spent. Not sure how much HP you will pick up in a non-turbo application though.
I use one on my GT. The extra money your saving by buying just the drop in filter can be better spent on exhaust, aftermarket plug wires, etc. Deen

Worth the $35 or so it costs. Buy a cleaning kit later on (about $15) and the filter is reusable.
When you remove stock filter, look into airbox, remove a short, white tube/nozzle. It's a silencer. That, + the K&N will create a little more noise, but will let the engine breathe a little bit better. Many folks have done it, I know of none disappointed. As Hyracer noted, a full intake is pricey. Plug wires on the PT are gone by 30,000 miles - I think the best buy is the Crane's from RaceAndStreet.com. The wires won't add HP - just replace what you may have lost from the stock one's dying. A flow-thru muffler is the next step - again, more noise, but better breathing.

I noticed no difference in performance after putting the K&N drop-in in. It does seem a bit louder though.

You won't have to worry about passing smog for 6 years, if you plan on keeping it that long.
