I posted on this forum awhile back that the odo reset button worked for me. Last time I tried it wouldn't do it, just tested the gauges. I think there's more to it then it seems, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. The key method seems to be bullet proof!

I was able to do the test for gauge operation, and verifying all idiot lights; just cant get the ERROR CODE or DONE indication with the other test.

In fact after the guage/light test was complete, there was no DONE on that either, just all instruments reset to normal.

Though during guage test, some code words/numbers appeared in the EVIC below fuel gauge where the compass setting is found. I didn't write them down, but it was something like MVER 6? etc.

Alvin,

Trick to getting codes or seeing "done"

Key in ignition.

Turn ON (without starting car but guage lights lite up)

OFF, ON-OFF, ON (leave key point towards windshield)

Do all this in 5 seconds or less. Don't hesitate in turning ON-OFF.
Either the codes will appear (ex: P0401) or it will say "done". I've hears some of them say "no faults".
