I think its turn the key to the on position and then off 3 times and on the third time it will read out codes for you. Also i realize you're new so welcome
But you could get a lot more replies and a faster response if you put your post in the right forum, like the tech and performance forum. [8D]

Welcome.
AZ_IceMan gave you the trick. Engine off. Turn key to "on" - right before "start", back a click to off, then on - off, on - off. Where miles are you should get something like "P302" and "Done". Or - you can take your car to AutoZone, AdvanceAuto, etc - and they'll plug in and read the codes. Bet it'll say P301, P302, P303 or P304.... Ever replace the spark plugs & wires?

Does the "check codes" feature also work on the 2007s? I tried it once and nothing came up.

If no codes are present, then the word "done" will appear in the center dial. That will prove you did the "trick" correctly. Someone on another thread said they retrieved the codes by pressing in the mileage reset button while turning the key to the ON position. On the older PT's this "trick" will only test all the dials and numbers, but the person who did it said the codes also came up at the end of the dial test, so try that one on your newer PT.
