'Round here, we've got one town with a mostly-Volvo fleet: got 'em at cost from a local dealer.

And in my own town, we have at least one sweet little Mercedes convertable, the, ahem, 'gift' of a former local drug dealer (he doesn't need it, he's not gonna be driving ANYWHERE for the next several years.....), which really gets attention in it's full police-department paint job!

Why do some PT's have little indents in the rims?

Ron,

I believe I saw them on the 2002 models. Not sure if all of them had it or Chrysler just made a run of a certain number of them but I was looking for changes that Chrysler made after the first 01's came out and that was one thing I spotted.

Don't quote me on this but I also believe Chrysler came out with the 03 models and their dreaded "chrome clad" wheels which a lot of owners hated. They were like very thin chrome coated wheels with a clear plastic coating which turned "yellowish" and was subject to peel. I think Chrysler did that because on some of the 01' and 02" chrome wheels, the chrome started to peel and rust on the edges. Owners started loosing air pressure because of the build up of rust. You see all the threads where new owners of old PT's come here and ask about the loss of air and rust on the wheels.

Long answer to a short question.

Well, if you look closer at the "wheels" on that PT Cruiser, you will notice they are your standard, basemodel, hubcaps. Anywho, there is a 1998 Dodge Intreped cop car running around in my town, it actually looks pretty sweet.

My personal mods so far- removed white air restricter, white hibiscus flowers sticker above the rear hatch lock, nice white primer/rust splotch underneath the passenger side tail light from bodywork...more to come once the money starts flowing freer and the car is payed off
