Honestly unless you own some kind of rare PT Cruiser then staying with the OEM antiquated radiator fan control via the dinosaur ECU is just not practical...IMHO.

For around $60 bucks you can bypass the complete OEM radiator fan ECU control system and run an aftermarket performance adjustable radiator fan controller. You can even for a few buck more add a manual bypass switch for the really hot summer day stuck in traffic and want the fans to stay running constant.

I did this over 6 years agoon my GT Turbo Model PT Cruiser and I can say it was on of the better upgrades I did for it. Searching the Forum you can even see dozens of pictures posting showing my temperatures operating in over 110+F ambient and barley hitting 190F.

Consider IT!

Example: Derale 16759 Adjustable Fan Controller

When I started replacing the radiator fan in both of my Pt Cruisers I found the aftermarket radiator fan plugs are defective and don't fit properly. I replace the plugs with the original plug from the original radiator fan that came with the Pt Cruiser. I.have never had a problem with bad connections.
