I would like to see the changes in the torque and horsepower curves, it's hard to know if these alterations are more than just stick-ons.

(BTG had the guts to post a before and after on their dual exhaust system.)

$499 = 20 HP at the wheel (Exhaust System)

$175 = ?? HP at the wheel (Intake System)

I came up with this, and cost under a hundred. so far just dry fitted it, parts are- 45 degree radiator hose 2 1/2 diameter-18" magnaflow exhaust pipe thats 3"wide and reduces to 2 1/2 on one end- K&N filter # RU-3700, cause it fits nice into hole by fender above inlet hole-I'm in the stages of making a heat shield for the filter. but it involves moving the fuse box forward close to the battery and making new mounting bracket for it.

Kirby, I can't give you any numbers but you can really tell what a difference the intake makes. You can feel it in the seat of your pants and my gas mileage also increased, and I haven't replaced the lower tube yet.

Cal, dont have a #. i saw it at a local speed shop and
said yey thatll work. its an exhaust tube 18" long 3"o.d.
reducing to 2 1/2" on one end. the only thing it said on
was magnaflow preformance. the straight tube will only
work if you move the fuse box. i had to cut 1 1/2" off
the tube to make the filter fit in the hole.

OH HI here are copies of the two emails I have received from AMX about his products.

"2 systems 1 turbo up 2 as on ebay airbox replacement T U 270 i pay shipping in the U S the one on ebay 170, i pay shipping in the us. will email more info in about 2 hours see pic"

"nither comes with k & n I am just a pt owner that owned a lot of AMX's and if you own a rambler you better know how to make parts because u can't buy them so i made the air sys as cheap as i could not intending on selling them but the members in our club all wanted one so i starting making them on a one to one. i buy two systems and
make one from it, I make almost nothing on either (!) air box replacement gain about 2 lbs of boost cost including shipping $170.00 (2) this one is from the turbo up your gain 3 to 4 lbs of boost and
lots of turbo noise if you look in the moss book they are selling the air box replacement for $299 and it is not chrome sometime i get pollished instead of chrome looks almost the same, i never know which one i will get. if i used the K&N the price would go up about $55.00 and u can change to a K&N whenthis one gets dirty this one u can wash and reuse. jim"

Me again...he tends to be kind of cryptic with his writing style, but so far several of the forum members seam to like the product and his timly delivery.
steve
PS for those of you that bought one of his systems please keep us informed[8D][:I]

ote69,

I'm kinda curious as well, especially since most of the people talking up AMX's intake have fewer than 5 posts on this board. Not that I'm suspicious or anything.

How much more info do you guys need? Fits good, performs very good and the price is right! Maybe so you get that warm and fuzzy feeling, you need to go with the major manufactured one and shell out $350.00. You're probaly better off with the factory set-up.

I have had Jim's turbo up setup on my car for over 2 monthes and it has been perfect. The installation was fast besides for some tweaking to make everything fit nice and secure. The intake fits into the same fender hole that the stock airbox sucked air. Right away there is a MAJOR differnce, sounds and performance. Im sure that eventually the popular intake companies (AEM, etc) will have a turbo-up intake for the PT. Im sure it will be similar in setup to Jims but only one tube instead of the two piece system up to the filter. When that is available I will probably switch to that for long term reliability, as for now this intake is the best ive seen or read about.
