I bought a Apexi AVC-R boost controller on e-bay. I hooked it up by inserting it in place of the stock solenoid. (The cream and brown colored lines on the number 2 solenoid). It works fine with the stock waste gate, but when I repleced the stock waste gate with an after market one with a stiffer spring and the Apexi would not open it. I got some black vacuum lines at an auto parts store and inserted the Apexi's soleniod between the turbo and the waste gate, but then the Apexi had no effect. The waste gate would open at about 8 pounds regardless of what I had the Apexi set at. Anyone have any ideas about what I have done wrong?

I know I posted the instalation procedures in the forum about two years ago. ( they have been archived now).
I am searching them but here is some of my old research. http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...?TOPIC_ID=2299 Here is a picture of the controller in the glove box : ![]() Ian

Ian-PT-GT, I would be very interested in your pics of how you hooked up your Avc-r. Since I bought mine on e-bay I did not get the tubing that came with it. What did it look like? Maybe the tubing I got from the auto parts store is flexing and not alowing the Avc-r to maintain a stady pressur level.

Ok.
I found some of the pictures... Here is the Solenoid with the two lines connected to it ![]() The line on the side is going to the Wastegate. The bottom one is conected to a "T" on the turbo exhaust port. I will post the rest of the instalation pictures later on tonight. Ian

Hate to say it Ian-PT-GT but imagestation doesn't allow all this linking stuff any longer. Try photobucket.com Free and fairly decent. There are others but this ones not bad. You have alot of good stuff to say so check out that site and post new pictures for everyone. [?]

I will fix them all tomorow. I have my .MAC account where I can link to all my pictures for free or create my own page. I need to load them in a smaller size or all the Dial-up persons will get mad at me. Come back tomorow afternoon... (I need to go to sleep... Too many Long Islands in the blood...) Ian

Ian, you photos are showing up correctly on my system. The first one is a little large for the dialup crowd by it does show the detail. Good job.

Thanks Ian, that helps. The lines in the picture look bigger than the ones I am using. Did you use the stock waste gate?
